# Smart Contracts: Ethereum

Ethereum identifies [Smart Contracts](https://ethereum.org/en/developers/docs/smart-contracts/) using the account of the wallet which created and deployed the contract. When specifying the vault, a wallet with the matching address must be present in the vault or else the contract will fail to execute.
